Well everyone’s favorite invisible player went home last week. Kathy didn't even put up a fight and worst yet she cast a vote for me. I don't normally care about getting votes, especially from someone who has put zero effort into communicating with me. I will be honest, I have a zero percent shot at getting her vote in the jury, and I don't really care. Kathy going is what needed to happen for this game to really go forward.
Right before the votes, Carrie and I had a discussion about how we can bring Julia into the fold. We determined that she would go to Julia and talk about aligning with her and taking out Burnie and Dorothy. This would in turn hopefully make her comfortable enough to put the three of us into an alliance. If Julia is comfortable enough with us each as final 2 partners, she more than likely going to want that final 3 alliance to work out. Ultimate it went in a favorable direction and I think the three of us are aligned. I have had a problem grouping up with blondes this season (see hot mess alliance Tiff/Holly/Tim). These two seem to have stronger game sense and tighter lips.
My plan for this week was to send one of Burnie/Dorothy home. Both of them don't have long term plans for me and I certainly don't have plans for either of them. I wanted to win immunity and send Ian to exile, so he could not be a vote to keep either of them. Julia informed me that Dorothy got a second clue for the exile idol. Finally the illusive second clue emerges! That being said I wasn’t going to force other people to do it. When the challenge came down to me, Dustin and Ian I really wanted to make sure I want. Eliminating one vote is very important and I knew Dustin was sending Dorothy back to exile and I don't want her to get the idol. Dustin wound up with immunity and Dorothy is on exile. I have to make the best of this situation and strike while I can.
One issue I had with the challenge was how Ian and Dustin were referring to one another as Father and Son. I am not the only one who noticed this and it worries me. I know Burnie is smoozing people, but so is Ian. I told Dustin about Burnie and Ian trying to align with me. He might very well be in with those two and Dorothy, but at least he knows that I trust him.
In the group chat of Burnie, Ian and I, the first option was Natalie. Burnie was pushing hard for it. Ian and I both agreed to go along with. However after Ian logged out he expressed interest in voting for Carrie instead. I went along with it, knowing full well I have no intention of voting her out. After that didn't gain any traction with a couple of people, he tried Jaclyn. I know Dustin wants to vote for Jaclyn, but I know he also wants to keep Natalie. Ian’s inconsistency with his target is going to be the key to getting Burnie out for me.
Julia and I discussed how Carrie, Nat and Jaclyn were all targets this week. I determined she should be the one to approach Natalie and Jaclyn. My ultimate reason for this is that the follow out will be on Julia for this move and not for me. I don't have a great relationship with Jaclyn so her getting that information from me would mean nothing. So she went to work and spoke to Natalie, which prompted Nat to come to me. Nat and I spoke and I confirmed that Burnie was targeting her. She also took it upon herself to tell me that her, Austin, Dustin and Cody were aligned on original Amsterdam and Dustin/Cody told her and Austin to vote for me. This makes me trust Dustin a lot less if this is true and I really hope it’s not. He has been shady lately, but I do think he still has some loyalty to me. I just have to be smarter going forward with how much information i tell him.
Julia also approached Jaclyn and told her Ian was targeting her. Needless to say she feels very betrayed and is completely on board with the vote for Burnie. Jaclyn came to me and said that she is very eager to vote out Burnie. Perfect, because Burnie leaving means Jaclyn is still around to hate on Ian and Ian hopefully gets close to me.
Let’s be clear, I promised neither Jaclyn or Natalie anything long term. I want to see this tribe erupt after this vote. I mostly want to see Burnie go for saying he wanted to blindside me after this vote. I also want Dorothy to follow shortly after, with or without her idol. Having a third idol in the mix shortly makes this messy, I do think I have the pull to make the moves to take it though. This tribal is going to be messy, but if I get away with the target not on me, I would consider it a big win-win.
Bootlist:
1. Dorothy
2. Burnie
3. Jaclyn
4. Natalie
5. Ian
6. Dustin
7. Julia
8. Carrie
